Bryan Jeffrey Braumberger

His car was found parked just minutes from home. The keys were still inside, the lights were still on—but 18-year-old Bryan Braumberger had vanished. Nearly two decades later, police believe he was likely the victim of foul play.

Bryan Jeffrey Braumberger disappeared during the early morning hours of June 1, 2007, after leaving a friend’s company in New Westminster, British Columbia. He told his friend he was heading home because he had to work the next morning. He never made it. More than nineteen years later, his disappearance remains unsolved.

On the evening before he disappeared, Bryan finished work, had dinner with his brother, and left home in his red 1988 Honda CRX to meet a friend in New Westminster. At approximately 12:15 a.m., the two said goodbye in a church parking lot. Bryan told his friend he was going straight home because he had work the next morning.

Hours later, Bryan’s car was discovered parked in the parking lot of the George Derby Centre in Burnaby, only a short distance from his home. The keys were still inside the vehicle, and the lights had been left on. Bryan, however, was nowhere to be found.

Bryan never reported for work, never contacted his family or friends again, and never accessed his normal daily life. Investigators found no evidence suggesting he had voluntarily disappeared, and his sudden disappearance quickly raised serious concerns.

Just over one month later, the investigation was transferred to British Columbia’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). At the time, investigators said the move provided additional investigative resources. As the investigation continued, police publicly acknowledged that the likelihood Bryan had been the victim of homicide had become far greater than any other explanation.

Shortly after Bryan disappeared, his family received anonymous demands for money in exchange for information about him. Police later determined the extortion attempt was unrelated to Bryan’s disappearance, and a suspect was arrested in connection with the scam.

Today, more than nineteen years later, Bryan Jeffrey Braumberger remains missing. His vehicle was found. His final movements are partially known. But what happened between saying goodbye to his friend and arriving home has never been explained.

Please don’t scroll past this case. Someone may still remember seeing Bryan, his red Honda CRX, or something unusual during the early morning hours of June 1, 2007. Even after all these years, one overlooked detail could finally provide the answers his family has been waiting for.
