Aftermath

Becky Marrero 2

Becky was connected to the Green River killings in July 1984, a year and a half after her disappearance. One of the reasons she was connected to the killings was because of her friendship with Debra Estes, a then-missing girl who was on the list of suspected victims.

In 2001, the Green River Killer was identified as Gary Ridgway. He was questioned extensively about Becky’s disappearance. He is believed to have confessed to murdering her, but he couldn’t recall any details of the murder. He wasn’t charged with her murder as her remains hadn’t been recovered.

When Becky’s skull was recovered in 2010, she was added to the list of known victims of Ridgway. He was later charged with her murder in 2011.
